1. Who We Are
Quizzy.ae is a daily quiz newsletter platform operated by Deepak Machado, based in Dubai, UAE. We send one thoughtful quiz question to subscribers every weekday morning.
2. What Data We Collect
Email address – collected when you subscribe via the signup form on quizzy.ae. This is the only personally identifiable information we require.
Quiz answers – when you submit an answer to a quiz question, we record your answer, whether it was correct, and a timestamp. If you arrived via an email link, your email address is associated with this record.
Usage data – our email provider (MailerLite) automatically records open rates, click rates, and device/location metadata when you interact with our emails. This is standard email platform behaviour.
Cookies – our website sets cookies for basic WordPress functionality and session management. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. Why We Collect It
We use your data to:
- Deliver the daily quiz email to your inbox
- Track your quiz score and streak (for the leaderboard and personal stats)
- Understand how subscribers engage with content so we can improve it
- Comply with anti-spam laws (your unsubscribe request must be honoured)
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who Has Access to Your Data
MailerLite (email platform, EU-based) – receives your email address and processes email delivery on our behalf. MailerLite is GDPR-compliant. Their privacy policy is available at mailerlite.com.
Hosting provider – our website host may process data as part of server operations.
No other third parties receive your personal data.
5. How Long We Keep It
Your email address and associated data are held for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your email is removed from our active lists within 30 days. Quiz submission records may be retained in anonymised aggregate form.
6. Your Rights (GDPR and UAE PDPL)
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (right to be forgotten)
- Object to processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (one click unsubscribe in every email)
- Data portability – receive your data in a portable format

7. Legal Basis for Processing
Under GDPR, our legal basis for processing your email address is consent (you voluntarily subscribed). You may withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing.
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), we process your data in accordance with the principles of lawfulness, fairness, and transparency.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed by MailerLite, whose infrastructure is located in the EU. These transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses in compliance with GDPR Article 46.

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect when it was last changed. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance.
